HipHop
The article DeSean Robinson wrote about with Hiphop was a very familiar piece to me. It didn't affect me on a personal level nor can I relate to him, but I did appreciate his passion and resolve. I like how he realistic he was about his circumstances (though someone may call it pessimism) and how hip hop music impacted his life a great deal. And there aren't a whole lot of kids who are as lucky as Robinson, who finds a way to escape the tragedies that happen in his neighborhood. The piece felt real and honest to me and it was a perfect example of how entertainment reflects culture.

Interview
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHxzxgwJTFc
This was interview for the move The Avengers. Now while I love watching Scarlet Johansson's responses, there are things the interviewer from Extra did that was wrong. One of such was openly asking a private question about Johansson's body and clothing without any regard to how uncomfortable she might feel about it (what was underneath her costume? really?). I might've given this interviewer the benefit of a doubt if he asked Jeremy Renner the same question. But he didn't and he targeted Scarlet based on her gender pretty much. And notice he doesn't even apologize for pretty much offending Johansson, despite it being obvious that she was offended and upset about it. I liked how she managed to take the high road and put the interviewer in his place.
Lesson of the day? Maintain fair questions at all times and avoid sexist questions. It will make you look like a bad journalist.
